Hot pepper jelly was popular in 1980s to mid-1990s and has remained popular in mid-west and southern states. Its most common use is to be poured over a soft cheese like cream cheese or goat cheese then eaten with crackers. Normally Hot pepper jelly is made with Jalapenos but our customers asked us to make it hotter as some of the heat is lost with the sugar used in the jelly. So we kicked up the heat with habanero peppers, now its our biggest seller.
